There are some big rumours doing the rounds that indicate WWE is intending to bring the ECW brand back for a special Pay Per View event.
While the idea of bringing the ECW brand back has been mentioned many times in the past, it was usually little more than hopeful thinking from fans. But lately, with the recent "Rise And Fall Of ECW" dvd selling very well, there's a renewed interest in the brand. It now sounds more and more likely that the plan is for WWE to produce at least a one off ECW PPV.
We'll follow this and bring you more news as soon as we get it.
OK, here's the latest on this story: The tentative date for the proposed ECW renunion Pay Per View is June 12th this year. The title of the PPV is likely to be ECW: One Night Stand (the WWE recently trademarked that name). Apparantley WWE is contacting some former ECW stars not currently under contract with them in hopes of having them appear at the show. At the moment is looks as though former ECW star Rob Van Dam will be unable to attend the PPV due to the fact that he is still recovering from knee surgery which is expected to keep him out of action for six months.
