One of the best wrestlers I've ever had the pleasure of watching perform has passed away. Eddie Guerrero is sadly cheating death and stealing life no longer.
Eddie, or Eddy as his name was also spelt at various times, was a superb wrestler and a consummate entertainer. No matter what role he was given, he went out and did the very best job of it that he could. He was involved in some of the most amusing angles and skits I've seen and he took part in several of my all time favourite matches as well.
Seeing Guerrero as the WWE Champion in the ring with his friend Chris Benoit as World Heavyweight Champion at the end of Wrestlemania XX was one of the best moments ever for me as a wrestling fan. It was well known how hard both guys had to work to reach such heights. But it was especially emotional for Eddie, as at that time he'd only recently gotten clean from addictions to alcohol and painkillers. He was a true fighter.
I thank Eddie for all the years of entertainment he provided. Rest in peace Eddie Guerrero, you will live on in the hearts and memories of wrestling fans the world over.
